Nine becomes eight, and as two drafters thrive, another two are looking dead in the water. This is how the Survivor draft changed with only three episodes to go.
This season, I am joined by three former Survivor contestants to draft five players between us. They are: Carolyn Rivera, Survivor: Worlds Apart Co Runner-Up; Jessica Lewis, Survivor: Millennials vs Gen X Contestant; and Bret LaBelle, Survivor: Millennials vs Gen X & The Amazing Race 31 Contestant.
Here are the current standings after Week 10:
Island of the Idols was back in play this week, and Lauren was unanimously agreed on to visit Rob and Sandra, where she had to bet on one (later two) people to potentially win Immunity. If she’s right, she wins an idol. Spoiler alert, Lauren does correctly bet on the Immunity winner, so she earned 2 points for visiting Island of the Idols, 2 for winning the game, and 5 for gaining possession of an idol. All 9 points shoot over to Jessica’s total.
No Reward Challenge this week, but Individual Immunity was certainly on where we saw the players decide if they wanted to compete or if they wanted to eat breakfast. Six players decided to eat and not compete for safety, but Karishma, Noura and Elizabeth did and it was Noura who won her second Individual Immunity, adding 10 points to Carolyn’s team.
We saw the final nine attend Tribal Council, and Karishma, the target of the vote, fantastically players her hidden immunity idol found in the previous episode. This adds 10 points to Carolyn’s team, as well. Karishma playing this idol prompts Lauren to play her idol she had only just found to stay safe, adding 10 points to Jessica’s team. Ultimately, Elizabeth was voted out in a revote with Janet, subtracting 10 points from Bret’s team.
I remain unchanged, because Dean my lone wolf is holding the flag for Team Matthew and not gathering any points because of it. That’s fine, maybe no news is good news. But I’ll keep the 158. Bret may have had a chance to sneak through a couple of weeks ago but I think it’s really spiralling downhill now. All his eggs in Janet’s basket? Unlucky. He’s on 116, and also left with one sole representative. We’ll see how it works for us.
On the other hand, Carolyn and Jessica seem to have a real race for first place. Carolyn maintains the lead with 183 because of her big point grabs. Jessica also really kept it close because of Lauren’s big pay day, only 9 points behind on 175. With three episodes to go, I really think this will be close right until the end.
The point system used for the draft is as follows.
This draft is updated weekly as the season progresses.
