Survivor: Island of the Idols Draft – Week 6

It’s time for another update to the Survivor draft with three former players. This week saw a return to the Island of the Idols, and two separate Challenges. So how did the points change our scores?

This season, I am joined by three former Survivor contestants to draft five players between us. They are: Carolyn Rivera, Survivor: Worlds Apart Co Runner-Up; Jessica Lewis, Survivor: Millennials vs Gen X Contestant; and Bret LaBelle, Survivor: Millennials vs Gen X & The Amazing Race 31 Contestant.

Here are the current standings after Week 6:

The episode featured both a Reward and Immunity Challenge, so let’s break down the Reward winners, which are 3 points distributed to each Vokai tribe member. Carolyn receives 6 for Missy and Dan, Jessica receives 9 for all of her members (Lauren, Tommy, Elaine), I only receive 3 for Jason, and Bret takes 6 for Aaron and Elizabeth.

After being chosen to sit out of the Reward Challenge, Jeff revealed that Elaine (the sit out) would be heading to the Island of the Idols. Jessica immediately grabbed 2 points just for Elaine visiting, but after Elaine won an advantage by winning the test Rob and Sandra gave her, Jessica grabbed a further 7 points.

The Lairo tribe pulled out a surprising Immunity Challenge win, giving Carolyn 10 points for her two Lairo members, Jessica 0 for having no Lairo members, myself 20 points for the four Lairo members I have, and Bret only 5 for his sole Lairo member.

Vokai attended Tribal Council, and Elaine played the advantage she had earned, earning 10 points for Jessica’s team. But the advantage was also used against Jason, subtracting 5 points from my team. Jason was then subsequently voted out, and another 10 points were taken away from my team, in my first player loss of the season.

I still hold a lead overall, although both Jessica and Carolyn are narrowing the gap, with only one point separating them (with Jessica now taking 2nd place and Carolyn sitting in 3rd). Bret still sits at the back of the pack, but I would not rule him out this early.

Each of us have now all lost one member of our team, and each week it’s becoming clear that a trip to the Island of the Idols can be a massive game changer to the final results of the week. With me now relying on Lairo winning Challenges to gain points, and Jessica still relying on Vokai to win Challenges, a short battle is bound to ensue next week as the tribes stay intact.

The point system for the draft is as follows.

This draft is updated weekly as the season progresses.
